Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves the injection of various substances into the middle layer of the skin (mesoderm) to treat a range of skin concerns, including wrinkles, cellulite, and hair loss. The exact mechanism of action of mesotherapy can vary depending on the substances used and the specific condition being treated. However, some general principles apply:

  1. Targeted Delivery of Active Ingredients: Mesotherapy involves the direct delivery of active ingredients, such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and hyaluronic acid, into the mesoderm layer of the skin. These substances are chosen based on their purported benefits for the skin, such as promoting collagen production, improving hydration, and enhancing skin tone and texture.

  2. Stimulation of Collagen and Elastin Production: Many of the substances used in mesotherapy are believed to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential proteins that help maintain the skin's structure, elasticity, and firmness. By promoting collagen and elastin synthesis, mesotherapy can help improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin, leading to a more youthful complexion.

  3. Enhanced Blood Flow and Lymphatic Drainage: The injection process itself can stimulate blood flow and lymphatic drainage in the treated area, leading to improved circulation and removal of toxins and waste products. This enhanced circulation can contribute to skin rejuvenation, reduced puffiness, and a more even skin tone.

  4. Localised Fat Reduction and Cellulite Improvement: In addition to its effects on the skin, mesotherapy can also be used to target localised fat deposits and cellulite. Certain substances injected during mesotherapy, such as phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate, are thought to break down fat cells and promote their elimination from the body, leading to a reduction in fat volume and improved skin texture in treated areas.

  5. Hair Growth Stimulation: Mesotherapy can also be used to stimulate hair growth and treat conditions such as alopecia. By injecting growth factors, vitamins, and other nutrients directly into the scalp, mesotherapy can nourish hair follicles, improve circulation to the scalp, and promote healthier, thicker hair growth.

Please note that injectable skin treatments cannot volumise the skin or relax muscle usage but are designed to hydrate and subtly firm the skin/ rejuvenate the area by stimulating growth.
